Are you passionate about making a difference in the construction industry? Do you want to be part of a supportive community that’s changing lives? If you can spare just four days a year (or more), you could become a Charity Ambassador with Band of Builders and help us spread our mission far and wide.
What is a Charity Ambassador?
Our Charity Ambassadors are the face of Band of Builders within their local communities and networks. They share our message, raise awareness, and act as a crucial link between our organisation and the people who could benefit from our support. It’s a fulfilling role that requires minimal time but delivers a lasting impact.
Support Us in Growing Our Community
Our Charity Ambassadors also play a vital role in recruiting future volunteers. By connecting with tradespeople, students, and local communities, you’ll help build a thriving network of volunteers passionate about driving our mission forward and extending our reach.
What We Ask of You
We ask for just four days of your time each year – though you’re welcome to give more! Whether it’s attending tool shows, representing Band of Builders at events, or organising Big Brew Campaign activities, your time will be spent making a meaningful difference.
What You’ll Get in Return
As a Charity Ambassador, you’ll become part of a close-knit community of like-minded individuals united by a shared mission. Here’s what you’ll gain:
- Training and Resources: We’ll provide everything you need to represent Band of Builders effectively, from talking points to branded materials.
- Recognition: Your efforts will be celebrated – we value and acknowledge the critical role our Ambassadors play.
- Branded Apparel: You’ll receive a Band of Builders branded jacket and shirt to wear proudly at events, helping you represent the charity with professionalism and pride.
- A Sense of Purpose: Experience the joy of giving back and see the direct impact of your work in your community.
What Types of Ambassadors are We Looking For?

Help us connect with local companies, communities, and organisations. Your role will involve raising awareness of our mission, introducing Band of Builders to businesses, and reaching out to those in the construction industry who might benefit from our support.

Organise local fundraising events or participate in existing campaigns to raise essential funds. Whether it’s setting up a small fundraiser, hosting meet-ups, or representing Band of Builders at fairs and community gatherings, your efforts will help sustain our vital work.

Be part of our Big Brew Campaign, an initiative dedicated to promoting mental health and wellbeing in the construction industry. As a Wellbeing Ambassador, you’ll encourage open conversations about mental health, organise Big Brew events, and support individuals within your community.

Take the lead in planning and running events such as tool shows, networking meet-ups, training sessions, or community activities. Your efforts will strengthen the Band of Builders network and provide invaluable support to local tradespeople.

Join our efforts to tackle the growing issue of tool theft, which has a devastating impact on tradespeople across the UK. As a Tool Theft Ambassador, you’ll help raise awareness of preventative measures, educate communities on tool security, and support those affected by theft, ensuring they know where to turn for help.

Engage directly with students in construction-related courses at colleges across the UK. As a College Ambassador, you’ll inspire the next generation of tradespeople by sharing Band of Builders’ message, encouraging them to get involved, and fostering awareness of issues like mental health, tool theft, and the importance of community in the construction industry.

Maybe you’d like to get involved in everything! As a Core Ambassador, you can participate in a variety of activities, from attending tool shows to organising Big Brew events, leading fundraisers, engaging with local colleges, and spreading awareness about tool theft prevention. This flexible role allows you to experience all aspects of our work and make a broad impact.
